The Rhine is a tributary of the Upper Rhine. It originates in the southeast of the Black Forest, enters the Rhine plain near Heidelberg, and flows into the Rhine at Mannheim. It is 367 km long. The river is a canal downstream from Stuttgart, and can carry ships up to 1,350 tons.
