The name of the track of East Japan Railway Company. Between Atami and Ito (Shizuoka Prefecture) is 16.9 km, DC electrified, with double track only between Atami and Kinomiya, and single track the rest of the way. It is connected with Izu Kyuko (opened in 1961) which operates between Ito and Shimoda, forming a longitudinal railway for tourist transport on the east coast of the Izu Peninsula. There are many express trains that run directly from Tokyo Station via the Tokaido Main Line, and there is also mutual use between the line and Izu Kyuko. It was electrified and opened between 1935 and 1938 (Showa 10-13). In 1987 (Showa 62), following the division and privatization of the Japanese National Railways, it became part of East Japan Railway Company.
