This fish belongs to the family Therododontidae in the subclass Pterotophore of the class Agnatha, and lived from the middle Silurian to the early Devonian periods of the Paleozoic era. Its body length is approximately 18cm. It is known that its body was covered with small scales, but its internal structure is largely unknown. There are protrusions on both sides of the rear of the head, which are thought to have served as stabilizing plates. The body as a whole was flattened (as if it had been flattened from above and below), and the tail fin was heterocercal.
