Telephone service (English)

A service that provides information in response to telephone inquiries. It is very diverse, ranging from local town information to road traffic information, travel and sightseeing information, sports and leisure information, stock and product information, and lifestyle consultation services. Information is provided either by a live person or by playing a tape. There are free and paid services, and free services include toll-free numbers provided by companies with pay-per-call service. A representative paid service is the Dial Q ² service, which appeared in 1989. This is a fee collection system in which the telephone company collects telephone charges and information provided charges in one lump sum, making it easier to use paid telephone services. However, it also gave rise to social problems, such as minors using adult services and being charged very high information fees.
