A type of lacquer art technique. Blocks of lacquer of each color are made, rolled out thinly with a roller, cut into patterns with a knife or mold, and pasted onto the surface of lacquerware. It is said to have been created by Fusa Hirotoku (Higa Noriaki) of Shuri, and is a popular decorative method unique to Okinawa. 〘名〙 漆芸の技法の一種。各色の彩漆の塊を作り、これをローラーで薄く延ばし、刀や型で文様に切り、漆器の面に貼りつけたもの。首里の房弘徳(比嘉乗昌)によって創始されたといわれ、沖縄特有の装飾法として盛んである。
