A town in Sawa County in southern Gunma Prefecture. It occupies the alluvial lowlands between the Tone River and its tributary, the Karasu River. Tamamura, the town in the center, is a typical urban village that developed as a post town on the Nikko Reiheishi Highway. Rice and wheat are grown, and there are also paper, electrical, and steel factories. Tamamura Hachiman Shrine is located here. Area: 25.78 km2 . Population: 37,536 (2010). 群馬県南部，佐波(さわ)郡の町。利根川と支流烏川の間の沖積低地を占める。中心の玉村は日光例幣使(れいへいし)街道の宿場町として発達した典型的な街村状の市街をなす。米麦作を行い，製紙，電機，鉄工業などの工場もある。玉村八幡宮がある。25.78km2。３万7536人（2010）。
