Political technology

Japanese: 政治技術 - せいじぎじゅつ

The concept of politics can be defined in many different ways, and the term "political technology" can have a variety of meanings accordingly. Most generally, politics is the control of other humans by humans, that is, "moving people," and political technology is all the techniques for "moving people," including all ways of living. On the other hand, it can also be said, somewhat more narrowly, that politics is about adjusting differences of opinion and conflicts of interest and resolving conflicts. Conversely, this definition can also be rephrased as politics is about integrating diverse interests and realizing common interests.

政治という概念はさまざまに異なった定義が可能であるが，それに応じて政治技術という言葉も多様な意味をもちうる。もっとも一般的には，政治とは，人間による人間の統制(コントロール)，すなわち，〈人を動かす〉ことであり，政治技術とは，〈人を動かす〉ためのすべての技術であって，あらゆる処世術を含む。他方，やや限定的に，政治とは，意見の相違や利害の対立を調整し，紛争を解決することであるということもできる。この定義は逆に，政治とは，多様な諸利益を統合し，共通の利益を実現していくことであるといいかえることもできる。
