New series - Shinban

Japanese: 新番 - しんばん

〘Noun〙 A job title in the Edo Shogunate. Established in 1643 ( Kan'ei 20 ). Controlled by the Wakadoshiyori. Stationed near the Tokei Room, they served as the vanguard when the Shogun was out. Shingoban. Kinjuban. ※Kanazoshi Musashi Afumi ( manuscript) (1661) Vol. 1 "The remaining portion was 54 people with stipends of 10,000 koku or more, 199 Goinban, 23 Shinban, and 83 Gotaisho."
