〘noun〙① A method of establishing a pawn in the Middle Ages. A pawn in which the collateral property is handed over to the creditor. 〘名〙① 中世における質権の設定方法の一つ。担保物件を債権者に引き渡す質。動産の場合は帰属質で、不動産の場合は土地からの収益は債権者のものとなり、これが利息とされて債務者は利息の支払いを必要としなかった。⇔見質(げんじち)。※新編追加‐永仁五年（1297）六月一日「於_二見質_一者、不_レ及_二沙汰_一、至_二入質_一者、可_レ依_二券契_一矣」② 質に入れること。また、その品物。[補注]②の意としては、「伎・天衣紛上野初花（河内山）‐序幕」に、「丁稚長松入質(イレビチ)を片脇へ積み上げ質札を読上げて居る」がある。
