A former town in Ama County, western Aichi Prefecture. Located in the agricultural suburban area of the Nobi Plain bordering the west of Nagoya City, rice cultivation is thriving. Shippo (shippo) is a specialty of the town, especially in Tojima and Yasumatsu. In March 2010, it merged with Miwa Town and Jimokuji Town in Ama County to become a city. 8.33 km2 .
