A revolutionary party during the Russian Revolution. The split between the left and right in the SRs began over their attitude towards World War I. During the 1917 Revolution, the party mainstream supported the Provisional Government and was at odds with the peasants' desire to seize their land, but the left wing, who criticized this, ended up supporting the Bolsheviks' October Revolution and were expelled from the party's central committee. From December 3 to 11 (November 20 to 28 in the Russian calendar), these people held the inaugural meeting of the Left SRs. In addition to older cadres such as Nathanson, the younger generation, including Spiridonova, BDKamkov, and ALKolegaev, were at the core of the party, and its bases were in the capital, the Baltic Fleet, Kazan, Ufa, and Kharkov.
