Kozan [town] - Kozan

Japanese: 甲山[町] - こうざん

A former town in Sera County in the central eastern part of Hiroshima Prefecture. It occupies part of the Kibi Plateau, with the Ashida River flowing east through the center. The main settlement in the Kabutoyama Basin (Ota Basin) was the center of Bingo Ota Manor at the end of the Heian period, and flourished as Takayama Post Town during the feudal era. Rice and livestock are cultivated, and matsutake mushrooms and shiitake mushrooms are also produced. The Fukuen Line runs through the eastern part of the town. In October 2004, it was incorporated into Sera Nishi Town and Sera Town. 99.79 ^km2 . 7,006 people (2003).

広島県中東部，世羅(せら)郡の旧町。吉備(きび)高原の一部を占め，中部を芦田川が東流する。甲山盆地（太田盆地）にある主集落は平安末期備後(びんご)太田荘の中心で，藩政時代は高山(こうざん)宿として栄えた。米作，畜産を行い，マツタケ，シイタケなども産する。東部を福塩線が縦断する。2004年10月世羅西町と世羅町へ編入。99.79km²。7006人（2003）。
