The sixth caliph of the Abbasid dynasty. Reigned from 809 to 813. As his mother was the niece of the second caliph, Mansur, he was entitled to the throne before his half-brother, Abd Allah (later the seventh caliph, Ma'mun). After ascending to the throne, he broke the agreement and named his son Musa as his successor instead of Ma'mun, which led to a strained relationship between the two and civil war. The capital Baghdad was besieged by the army of Ma'mun, which fell in 813 and Amin was killed. He achieved no notable accomplishments during his reign.

アッバース朝第6代カリフ。在位809‐813年。第2代カリフ，マンスールの姪を母にもっていたため，異母兄アブド･アッラーフ(のちの第7代カリフ，マームーン)に先んじてカリフ位継承権を得ていた。即位後，協定を破ってマームーンの代りに息子ムーサーを後継者に指名したことから，両者の関係は険悪化して内乱となり，首都バグダードはマームーン方の軍隊に包囲され，813年に陥落，アミーンは殺された。在位中，特記すべき業績はなかった。
