Qianlong glass - Qianlong glass (English spelling)

Japanese: 乾隆ガラス - けんりゅうガラス（英語表記）Qian-long

Glass products made in China during the Qing dynasty. It was particularly developed during the Qianlong period, when excellent products were produced, and it became the common name for glassware of the period. The manufacturing method initially used the ancient Chinese technique of casting, but in the latter half of the Qianlong period, Western technology was introduced and glassblowing techniques were used. It became widespread after a government-run glass factory was established in Beijing during the Kangxi period of the Qing dynasty (1662-1722), and Boshan in Shandong Province eventually became its largest production area. Qianlong glass was manufactured into products for a variety of purposes, such as vases, bowls, and plates, and the techniques used also evolved in a complex way, including casting into molds, colored glass with engraving, and partial combinations of different colors.

中国，清代に作られたガラス製品。ことに乾隆年間に発達してすぐれたものが作られたので，当代のガラス器の俗称となった。製法は初め中国古来の技法である鋳造法を用いていたが，乾隆期後半より西洋の技術を導入して吹きガラス技法を使用。清の康煕年間 (1662～1722) に北京にガラスの官営工場が設けられてから広く普及し，やがて山東省博山がその最大の産地となった。乾隆ガラスは壺，鉢，皿などさまざまの用途に応じて製品化され，技法も型に流したもの，色被 (き) せガラスに彫刻を施したもの，違った色を部分的に組合せたものなど複雑な展開をみせた。
