A port city in northeastern Wisconsin, USA. Population 103,000 (1994). Located on the west shore of Lake Michigan, at the head of Green Bay, it connects to the St. Lawrence Seaway. Along with Prairie du Chien, it was one of the earliest settlements in Wisconsin. Taking advantage of its geographical location, it still thrives as a port city, but paper and cheese production are also thriving. For football fans, it is famous as the home of the Green Bay Packers. [Okada Yasuo] Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
