...There are some settlements in Nagano Prefecture and parts of the Ryukyu Islands that are run for tourism only during the summer tourist season. On the other hand, examples of horizontal migration include the forest tribes of Central Africa, the Eskimos of the far north, the Tungusic hunting settlements of Siberia, and the fishing settlements of the Lofoten Islands in the North Atlantic. These fishing settlements come from the coast of Norway to fish for herring and cod from mid-January to mid-April every year.
