Year of birth: Year of birth and death unknown. Military commander during the Northern and Southern Courts period. Local lord of Kimotsuki County, Osumi (Kagoshima Prefecture). Commonly known as Hachiro. Also known as the Mimata clan. In November 1335 (Kenmu 2), when Ashikaga brothers Takauji and Tadayoshi rebelled against the Kenmu government in Kamakura, he allied with the Ito and Kikuchi clans in southern Kyushu and raised an army against Takauji. At the time, his base was in Hyuga-Mimata (Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki Prefecture). The following year, he fought against Hatakeyama Naoaki of the northern army at the border of Hyuga in Osumi, and fought at various castles such as Takarabe and Owada, but in August 1339 (Ryakuo 2/Engen 4), Taka Castle was captured by a fierce attack by Hatakeyama's army, and he returned to his base in Kasano in Osumi to try to rise again, but died of illness before succeeding.
