There are two types of starvation: complete starvation, where no food is consumed (including cases where only water is consumed), and incomplete starvation, where nutrition is lacking or malnutrition occurs. In complete starvation, initial energy supply comes from glycogen stored in the muscles and liver, but even after glycogen is consumed, energy is continuously supplied by fat, and eventually protein is broken down. For the first one or two days, the patient feels extremely hungry, but then these symptoms disappear, and the patient complains of dry mouth, stomach pressure, and dizziness, the skin becomes dry, both eyes become sunken, the tongue becomes dry and red, the patient smells of acetone, physical strength and mental function decline, delirium and hallucinations occur, the patient falls into a coma, and the patient dies from autointoxication, acidosis, dehydration, etc. ...
