Kanjizai-ji Manor - Kanjizai-ji no Sho

...Hirajo, located on a terrace at the mouth of the river, is the central settlement, and was developed as a temple town for Kanjizai-ji Temple, the 40th temple of the 88 Shikoku Pilgrimage. The area around this town used to be the Kanjizai-ji Manor of Enryaku-ji Temple, but it is believed that the temple land developed by Kanjizai-ji Temple was donated to Enryaku-ji Temple, which was the main temple at the time, and became a manor. During the Nanboku-cho period, it was placed under the jurisdiction of Shoren-in Temple's head priest, and the honorific "Gosho" was used as a common name, and there was also a Gosho group among the ten local groups of the early modern Uwajima Domain. ...
