Flame Drum - Kaendaiko

...There are three types of drums: the drums, the gongs, and the taiko drums. The drums are divided into the katsuko (used in new music from the Tang Dynasty), the ichiko (used in early music from the Tang Dynasty), and the sannoko (used in Goryeo music). The gongs are divided into the tsurigomeko (wind and strings) and daigoko (bugaku). The taiko drums are divided into the gakudaiko (wind and strings) and the daiko (bugaku). The daiko drums are also called hi-en taiko (flame drums) because of their particularly magnificent flame decorations. In addition, there are drums that were devised for special performance styles such as michigaku, where the performers play while walking, and funagaku, where the performers play on a boat with a dragon head and a goose neck....
