Rotary kiln
A kiln used mainly for burning cement. It is usually a long cylindrical steel kiln lined with refractory material, which rotates slowly around its axis at a constant angle of inclination while being heated by a combustion device attached to the bottom of the kiln to burn the material. Various types of kilns, such as long kilns and NSP kilns, have been developed.

おもにセメント焼成に用いられる窯。普通,耐火物で内張りした長い円筒形の鋼鉄製の窯で,一定の傾斜角でその軸線のまわりをゆっくり回転しながら窯下方についている燃焼装置で加熱し,焼成を行う方式のもの。ロングキルン,NSPキルンなどの種々の窯が開発されている。
