...Only one volume remains, with the latter half missing, so the overall structure is unknown, but it is assumed to have been a kind of love story compiled as a tale of the miraculous powers of Kannon. The story begins with a contrast between two local samurai brothers, Yoshimi Jiro, who lives in the capital in Musashi Province, and Otoburo Saburo, who has married an ugly woman and lives solely for his martial arts. Yoshimi's beautiful daughter (probably the protagonist), the child of Kannon, is separated from her fiance after her father's death and is abused by Otoburo.
