...The large-billed crow is distributed in a breeding range from the Amur region, Sakhalin, the Kuril Islands, Japan to southern Asia. In Japan, there are three subspecies: the large-billed crow C. m . japonensis , which breeds in Tanegashima and areas north of Yakushima, the Ryukyu large-billed crow C. m . connectens , which breeds on the islands between Amami Oshima and Miyakojima, and the red-billed crow C. m . osai , which breeds in the Yaeyama Islands. The large-billed crow is the largest of these, with a total length of about 60 cm, while the red-billed crow is smaller, with a total length of about 40 cm.
