〘 noun 〙 A signboard with a daimyo-dai (title) written on it and hung in front of a theater. In Edo, the outer title was written in large letters in the Kanteiryu style on a large signboard over 15 shaku in size, the narration was written above it, and the performers of the troupe were depicted in pictures, with the troupe's family crest hammered into the metal fittings at each of the four corners.
