…This is a new style of poetry that was written by the literati who gathered at the Eastern Palace when Xiao Gang, the Jianwen Emperor of the Liang Dynasty in the Six Dynasties in China, was the crown prince. It was influenced by the popular style of poetry of the time and the folk songs of Jiangnan. From the resentment of the empty bedroom to the appearance and furnishings, all of the poems have women as their theme, and are written using sensual expressions, so they became known as the lustrous style and spread throughout the world. A collection of these poems is the 10 volumes of Yutai Xinyong by Xu Ling, a member of the Eastern Palace literary group. …
