〘Noun〙 A festival held every year on April 3rd (formerly on the day of the Rooster in April or November) at Umemiya Shrine in Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City. 〘名〙 京都市右京区の梅宮神社で毎年四月三日（古くは四月、一一月の上酉の日）に行なう祭礼。明治以後はあまり行なわれないが、もと橘氏が奉幣の任にあたり、のち藤原氏、源氏の長者が代行して務めたという。《季・夏》 〔三代実録‐貞観二年（860）四月五日〕
