〘Noun〙 A festival held every year on April 3rd (formerly on the day of the Rooster in April or November) at Umemiya Shrine in Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City. It has not been held much since the Meiji period, but originally the Tachibana clan was in charge of offering offerings, and later the wealthy men of the Fujiwara and Minamoto clans acted on their behalf. 《Season: Summer》 [Sandai Jitsuroku - April 5th, 860] Source: The Selected Edition of the Japanese Language Dictionary About the Selected Edition of the Japanese Language Dictionary Information |
