Nuchal ligament - Nap ligament

…The skin in this area is very thick, and hair grows in some of the upper parts. Under the skin, between the spinous processes of the spine and the occipital bone, there is an elastic ligament called the nuchal septum (or nuchal ligament), which holds the head back like a rubber band and prevents it from bending forward. On both sides of the nuchal septum, there are embankments of muscles (mainly the transverse occipitalis muscles), so there is a depression in the midline of the outer surface of the nape of the neck called the 'bon no kubo' (dimple in the neck).
