Eddy current brake

Engine braking is a type of braking that utilizes the compression resistance of the engine and the mechanical friction of the engine and transmission.

Although it can also include electromagnetic brakes and eddy current brakes that use the braking action caused by eddy currents generated when a conductor placed between magnetic poles moves, the term electric brake usually refers to regenerative brakes or power regenerative brakes that use an electric motor as a generator. A regenerative brake is a brake in which the electric motor used as a rotary power source is made to function as a generator when it is necessary to slow down, and the torque acting in the direction to stop the rotation is used for braking.
