Clan God - Shizokushin

Japanese: 氏族神 - しぞくしん

The guardian deity of a clan. In most cases, a common ancestor is deified, but there are also cases where a totem faith considers animals and plants to be ancestors, and in other cases, a deity that has no relation to ancestors at all is worshipped jointly. In either case, the deity is believed to have a profound influence on the interests of the people or group that worships it, and various rituals are held for it. (→Ujigami)
