…(4) The Eulsi Sa-gai in 1545 (the 1st year of the reign of King Injong, the year Eulsi). At the end of Jungjong's reign, there was a conflict over the succession to the throne between the father-in-law (Yun Im and others) of the crown prince (later Injong) of Jungjong's first consort, and the brother (Yun Wonhyung and others) of Jungjong's second consort (later Myeongjong's birth mother). In 1545, Yun Wonhyung and others who supported Myeongjong suppressed the situation by killing or exiling 47 people, including Yun Im, who was opposed, and the Sirin faction who allied with him. The background to these four Sa-gai was the conflict between the large landowners (the Hunku faction) who were parasitic on the central power, and the small and medium-sized landowners in the provinces (the Sirin faction). In 1565, the Sirin faction took the opportunity of the death of Myeongjong's birth mother to expel Yun Wonhyung and others, and establish the Sirin faction government. …
