...The mourning period for childbirth is most severe for the mother, followed by the newborn baby, the father, and the family. The end of the mourning period for the father is usually said to be three to seven days, and the end of the mourning period for the newborn baby and the mother is called ubuaki, hiaki, imiaki, etc. In many places, the end of the mourning period for the newborn baby is around 30 days, and the first shrine visit is held after the end of the mourning period.
