Born in 1767. A disciple of Inoue Sakuun (5th Inoue Inseki). In 1719, he took the name Inseki 6th. In 1720, he opposed Honinbo Shuhaku's promotion to Jouzu (7th dan) and played a competitive Go match. In 1768, he became a jun-meijin (8th dan) along with Honinbo Sasgen. In 1770, he opposed Sasgen's request to become a Meijin and played a competitive Go match, but was defeated. He died in December 1770, at the age of 66. He was from Shimousa.
