Anuttara Samyak Sambodhi - Anuttara Samyak Sambodhi

A Buddhist term. A transliteration of the Sanskrit words anuttarā samyak-sabodhi (enlightenment). It refers to the supremely correct and perfect enlightenment wisdom that makes a Buddha a Buddha. It can be translated as supremely correct and perfect enlightenment, supremely correct and true path, and supremely correct and omnipotent knowledge. Among the enlightenment wisdom attained by Buddhas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Sravakas, the Buddha's (bodhi) represents the supremely ultimate.

仏教用語。サンスクリット語のアヌッタラー（無上の）・サムヤク（正しい、完全な）・サンボーディ（悟り）anuttarā samyak-sabodhiの音写。仏の仏たるゆえんである、このうえなく正しい完全なる悟りの智慧(ちえ)のこと。無上正等正覚(むじょうしょうとうしょうがく)、無上正真道(しょうしんどう)、無上正遍知(しょうへんち)と訳される。仏、縁覚(えんがく)、声聞(しょうもん)がそれぞれ得る悟りの智慧のなかで、仏のそれ（菩提(ぼだい)）は、このうえない究極のものを示す。
