...The flowering season in Japan is often from spring to early summer. The two species that can be seen in Japan are Ascocentrum ampullaceum ( A. ampullaceum Schltr.) and Ascocentrum miniatum (A. miniatum Schltr.). The former was introduced to Europe in 1839, and the latter was discovered in Indonesia in 1846.
