...Okinawa's pole dances include the martial arts-like "Kumibo" and "Bofuri" pole dances, and dance-like dances called "Haenoshima" and the like, and are also called August dances. The pole dance in Yamakita, Kagami-cho, Kami-gun, Kochi Prefecture, is held on November 18th at the annual festival of Asagami Ouji-gu. Twenty unmarried young men are divided into two groups and dance by hitting each other with six-foot poles in turn....
