The group that produces lemon-colored flowers includes the late yellow day-lily H. citrina Baroni var. vespertina (Hara) Hotta (illustration), which is found on the coasts and inland grasslands of the Chubu region and west, and the late yellow day-lily H. flava L. var. yezoensis (Hara) Hotta, which is found on the coast of Hokkaido and whose flowers begin to bloom in the evening and continue to bloom until the afternoon of the following day. There are various types of day-flowering group that produce orange-yellow flowers.
