Nakota

...Leather products were decorated with beads, which were originally made from porcupine quills, but in the 19th century were made from glass. The Dakota are the largest group of people who speak Siouan languages, and are divided into three groups: the Santee Dakota, who live near the border between North and South Dakota; the Nakota, who live in southeastern South Dakota; and the Teton Dakota (or Lakota), who live west of the Missouri River. The Teton Dakota are divided into bands such as the Oglala, and each band has a fairly clear hunting territory and is almost an independent tribe.
