Dipsacaceae

...In Europe, it is considered a folk medicine, and its English name, scabious, is said to come from the fact that it cures scabies. The only other member of the Dipsacaceae family that grows wild in Japan is the Nabena, but there are eight genera and about 150 species in the world. It is mainly distributed in the temperate zone of Eurasia, but is also known to grow in some tropical highlands and in Africa.
