Old river mouth - Rōkaku

A county-level city in the northern part of Hubei Province in central China. It is a prefecture-level city of Xiangyang. It has a population of 528,000 (2014). It is a commercial city on the eastern bank of the midstream of the Han River, and is a distribution center for agricultural and forestry products from southwestern Henan Province and northern Hubei Province. It is on the Han-Dan Line (Wuhan-Danjiangkou), and is also a river port on the Han River. In 1979, the city was established around Laohekou Town in Guanghua County, and in 1983 Guanghua County was incorporated. Automobile parts manufacturing and agricultural product processing are the main industries, and chemical fertilizer, cement, and machinery industries are also located here. Traditional crafts such as ironware, bamboo products, umbrellas, and jadeware are also thriving.

中国中部、湖北(こほく)省北部の県級市。襄陽(じょうよう)地級市に属する。人口52万8000（2014）。漢水(かんすい)中流部東岸にある商業都市で、河南(かなん)省南西部と湖北省北部の農・林産物の集散地である。漢丹線（武漢(ぶかん)―丹江口(たんこうこう)）が通じ、漢水の河港でもある。1979年、光化(こうか)県の老河口鎮を中心に市が設けられ、1983年光化県を編入した。自動車部品製造業と農産物の加工業が中心産業で、化学肥料、セメント、機械工業も立地する。鉄器、竹製品、雨傘、玉器などの伝統工芸も盛んである。
