Subpolar zone

Japanese: 冷帯 - れいたい(英語表記)subpolar zone
Subpolar zone
A region between the temperate and polar zones. Also called the subpolar zone. In the climate classification of Vladimir P. Köppen, this is an area where the average temperature of the warmest month is above 10°C and the average temperature of the coldest month is below -3°C. It is located in the latitude range of 50° to 70° from Eastern Europe to the Eurasian continent including China and the North American continent, and does not exist in the Southern Hemisphere. In Japan, northern Japan is in the polar zone. The winters are cold and long and harsh. The summers are short but the temperature rises considerably, and the annual temperature difference is large. The trees are deciduous broadleaf forest in the south and coniferous forest (taiga) in the north, but the deciduous broadleaf forest zone is often distinguished as the cool temperate zone and the coniferous forest zone as the cool zone.
