Around 1575 - 1636 (around Tensho 3 - Kan'ei 13) A Jesuit priest from Awa. He studied at the seminary in 1586 (Tensho 14) and joined the Society of Jesus in 1595 (Bunroku 4). In 1601 (Keicho 6) he went to Macau to study ethical theology, and after returning to Japan he served as a Latin teacher at the seminary. From 1607 he lived in Kyoto and engaged in missionary work in the Kinai and Shikoku regions. In 1619 he was exiled to Manila, where he looked after the Japanese in Japantown there, and was ordained a priest the following year. In 1620 (Genwa 2), he returned to Japan and from Kyoto he preached in secret in the Hokuriku, Kanto, and Tohoku regions, and in 1635 (Kan'ei 12) he was arrested in Osaka and died the following year after being executed by hanging from a hole.
