A type of cooperative labor practiced in Korean rural areas. Farmers work together to provide labor during busy farming seasons such as rice planting and summer weeding. It is similar to the Japanese "yui." Pumashi is a relatively small group of cooperative labor organized among close friends in a village, but when a similar cooperative labor is carried out by the entire village, it is called ture. Ture is also most often performed during rice planting and especially weeding, and in the old days, farmers would raise flags bearing the words "Farmers are the foundation of the world" and perform agricultural music while working together.
