Deep-horned

Japanese: 不角 - ふかく
Deep-horned
1662‐1753 (Kanbun 2‐Hōreki 3)
A haiku poet and comic writer of the mid-Edo period. Mr. Tateba. Alternative names were Shogetsudo and Sen'o. He worked at a bookshop and was known as Okamura Futokumon. He shaved his head and was promoted to Hokyo and then Hokan (1730). He published Tsukinami Zenku Tsukakutenshu from 1690 (Genroku 3), and Tsukinami Hatsu Kushu from 1693. He was called "Kecho-fu" (transformed bird style) because he added vulgar meaning to classical expressions, and along with the Sharaku-fu and Metaphoric-fu, he contributed to the establishment of Edo tastes, but he was isolated in the haiku world and created a different world for himself, centering around the group of country samurai who were on duty at Edo. "Today's moon-waka shu have abandoned the mountains, oh my" (Ashibunsen).
