Ooze - Why?

Japanese:
Ooze - Why?
A type of deep-sea pelagic sediment. More than 30% of the sediment is fine-grained and consists of shells of planktonic organisms. Based on the main components, it is divided into coccolith ooze, globigerina ooze, pteropod ooze, radiolarian ooze, diatom ooze, etc. The first three are calcareous, and the latter two are siliceous. Siliceous ooze is especially common in the deep sea, because calcium carbonate such as globigerina shells dissolves at extremely deep sea levels. Siliceous ooze often changes to red clay. Diatom ooze is characteristic of high latitudes.
