Togouchi [town] - Togouchi
A former town in Yamagata County, in the western part of Hiroshima Prefecture, bordering Shimane Prefecture. The central settlement is near the confluence of the Ota River and its tributary, the Shiwaki River, and is served by the Chugoku Expressway. The town has a large forest area and is home to forestry. Sandankyo Gorge is located upstream of the Shibaki River. In October 2004, it merged with Kake Town and Tsutsuga Village in Yamagata County to become a town, Akiota Town. Area: 191.92 km2 . Population: 3,269 (2003).

広島県西部，島根県に接する山県(やまがた)郡の旧町。中心集落は太田川と支流柴木(しわき)川の合流点付近にあり，中国自動車道が通じる。山林面積が広く林業を営む。柴木川上流に三段峡がある。2004年10月山県郡加計町，筒賀村と合併し町制，安芸太田町となる。191.92km2。3269人（2003）。
