Japanese: 済生会 - さいせいかい

Its official name is the Social Welfare Corporation Onshi Zaidan Saiseikai. It was established in 1911 as an Imperial Foundation with the goal of providing medical care for the poor, funded by a grant from Emperor Meiji and private donations. As one of the measures to ease social unrest after the High Treason Incident, it established branches in each prefecture, received government budget allocations, and had the character of a public institution. In 1952 it became a social welfare corporation, and currently operates a hospital, infant home, and osteopathic school as a private organization.

正称は社会福祉法人恩賜財団済生会。1911年，明治天皇の下賜金と民間寄付金により貧民医療を目的に恩賜財団として設立。大逆事件後の社会不安の緩和策の一つで，各県に支部を置き，政府予算の配分を受け，公的機関の性格をもっていた。1952年社会福祉法人となり，現在は民間団体として病院，乳児院，整肢学院などを経営。
