Komanagi - Komaboko

Japanese: 狛桙 - こまぼこ

The name of a piece of gagaku and bugaku music. It is included in Komagaku and is in the Goryeo Ichikotsu style. It is a dance by four people called Bun no Mai (Tarimai). It is also written as Komanhoko, and is also called Hanatsurigaku or Zaomochimai. The pair dance is Utakugaku. Four dancers wear ryo-tou costumes, ken'ei (wrap) and oikake (rope) crowns, and hold five-colored paddles. In the middle of the dance, there is a movement where the paddles are used to row a boat, and it is said that the dance depicts the scene of a boat carrying tribute entering the port.

雅楽，舞楽の曲名。高麗（こま）楽にふくまれ高麗壱越（いちこつ）調。四人舞で文（ぶん）ノ舞(平舞)。狛鉾とも書き，花釣楽あるいは棹持舞とも言う。番舞（つがいまい）は《打球楽》。裲襠（りようとう）装束に巻纓（けんえい）･緌（おいかけ）をつけた末額冠（まつこうのかんむり）を身につけて4人の舞人が五色にいろどられた棹を持って舞う。舞の途中で，棹をあやつって船をこぐ振りがあり，貢物を運ぶ船が港に入る様子を舞にしたものという。
