A Florentine politician, political thinker, and historian in the late Renaissance. Born into a distinguished aristocratic family, he served as a diplomat and administrator, mainly under two Medici popes, Leo X and Clement VII. In addition to his political activities, he wrote works such as "History of Florence" (1509) and "De Politique Florentiae" (1526). In his later years, he was dismissed from politics by Cosimo I de' Medici, and in despair, he devoted himself to completing his great work "History of Italy" (1537-1540). His most famous work is "Memoirs (Ricordi)," which contains many sharp observations about human beings and politics. Politically, he emphasized the political role of the aristocracy and took a position of suppressing democracy, and also tried to prevent foreign interference in Italy mainly by forming an alliance between Italian countries. Compared to his respected friend Machiavelli, who presented various measures to change the status quo, he was generally conservative.
