〘Noun〙 Buddhist term. A stone pillar engraved with sutras. A long polygonal stone pillar with the Sukhavati Dharani Sutra engraved on it. Some are made of metal. They began in the mid-Tang dynasty and were also produced in Japan. 〘名〙 仏語。経文を刻んだ石柱。多角形の長い石柱に、尊勝陀羅尼経などを刻んだもの。金属製柱のものもある。唐代中期にはじまり、日本でも製作された。
