King's Road

…Further south, approaching the River Thames, is Chelsea, known as an upscale residential area, including the home of T. Carlyle. However, King's Road, which runs diagonally through the center of the district, is known as a street where hippies once gathered, and today is a gathering place for young people with a punk look (Figure).
[Administrative Organization]
The Greater London Council (GLC), the administrative body for the Greater London region, was established in 1965 as part of the reform of the capital's administrative structure, and has functioned as a regional government for 20 years.
